The New Yorker: FAIL

A row has broken out over a magazine’s cover depicting Barack Obama dressed as a Muslim and his wife as a revolutionary.

Staff at The New Yorker magazine have defended the illustration, saying it is meant to mock right-wing depictions of US Democratic presidential candidate Senator Obama and his wife.

But the Obama campaign camp has reacted angrily. Spokesman Bill Burton said: “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama’s right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree.”
